Miyagi Prefecture is a first level administrative region in northeastern Japan, adjacent to the Pacific Ocean to the east and the Oyu Mountains to the west. Miyagi Prefecture accounts for about one-quarter of the population in northeastern Japan, with its capital located in Sendai, the largest city in the region, and approximately 45% of the population residing there. Interconnected with Fukushima Prefecture, Yamagata Prefecture, Akita Prefecture, and Iwate Prefecture.
